Effie Gray : The leading lady

I can't think of a movie in which the entire cast has been excellent except for the leading lady. As I watched Dakota Fanning, I kept thinking of the actresses who could and should have played the role. In her scenes with Emma Thompson, the latter stole them without even trying. Maybe Dakota Fanning was poorly directed I want to think she has talent but in this movie, she was terrible.

It's hardly fair to compare Dakota Fanning to Emma Thompson!

Her English accent was excellent too. Americans are rarely able to manage that

Her Scottish accent was deplorable. Eddie Gray wasn't English, so Dakota's English accent is neither here nor there.

Dakota did not look the part. I like her but this movie isn't for her.
