Noell Coet : Mischief Night.

Mischief Night.

Not blind enough. But she did do a great job screaming!

Re: Mischief Night.

not only screaming, she pulls you into the whole movie with her deep performance! she was very good

Re: Mischief Night.

Not deep enough. As a teenaged female actress portraying a teenaged female, when the 55 year old male who was directing her told her to leave her mobile downstairs, she should have had the sack to say "No, that's a stupid and unrealistic action. Wake up and smell the toast burning, old man."

Re: Mischief Night.

I just watched Mischief Night as it aired over the weekend and I gotta say I really dug this girl a lot. The script was so-so like what this beerandshots dude is saying. And by the way dude, it's not an actress' job to rewrite the story she has to do her best to tell the story she has been given. With that being said, she did really well. I can't imagine how challenging it would be to play a blind character in a film. She was impressive.

No, it's not the performer's job to rewrite the script. But if the script contains actions or directions that are completely contrary to the character as developed by the performer and director, (especially if they're only there as contrivances solely for the convenience of the writer, the onus falls on the performer to take it to the director, who takes it to the writer, and then they all go yell at the line producer and each other. That the specific issue I cited above made it to the shooting script is a failure across the board, but as a teenaged female actress portraying a blind teenaged female, if Noell didn't say anything about setting her mobile down and then just bopping up the stairs, phone forgotten, then yeah, dude, she gets the first salvo because either she didn't have a handle on her character, or she didn't go to bat hard enough for her character.

Because if performers aren't willing to stand up for themselves, who will?
