NCIS : How To 'Fix' The Show
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
What can the show do to generate interest again?
well, casey, let me answer it this way:
how can I wake up tomorrow and be 28 years old again?
wouldn't I just to be young, healthy, and boo-ti-full!
the answer to both questions is the same:
this show - and my body - has seen better days, and there's no way to fix it or to go back to what it once was
once something has run it's course you just can't go back
IMveryHO, NCIS could add 6 more new characters - and bring Kort back from the dead - and I think the show would still be mediocre
sorry, if this sounds so negative, but you know me - DiNaslo, the Realist

Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
Although I havent been following NCIS from Day One (have been playing catch up for a couple years), I agree with Nas and Franks. Yet from reading this board, I gather there are those who are sooo interested in the love lives, or lack thereof, of various charactersBishop, McGee,Ducky etc etc. Maybe the writers think they're feeding the fans what they wantjust a guess.
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
What board have you been reading? I know romances have been discussed in passing, but I don't recall *anyone* clamoring for more shipping. If anything, most people agree: let them have relationships, but let it happen off screen.
If this show had truly turned into a night time soap, I'd be the first to start the tv remote revolutionI'd turn it off.

Really? You have to go THERE? I am not being overly sensitive here, that term is just plain offensive. You can get your point across without resorting to such disdain.

You can get your point across without resorting to such disdain.
Sadly, the whole point of this particular person's posts is to be as offensive as possible.

I'd call him a human being who deserves the same respect you and I do.
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
I had to laugh, because my first response to your post was: c'mon, it a bit better then mediocre! And I guess that's my thing this year; I never considered NCIS anything more than a show that was better than most on network tv, so it hasn't disappointed me. When you think about the number of offerings from the major networks, and the number of shows I just can't miss.well, that would be none. If the dvr messes up or we have a power outage, then I just shrug and move on. If it sounded especially interesting to me, I'll watch at the network website or buy it from Amazon. But mostly, I just skip it.
But really, it is better than most offerings. For me.let me get that in there. And, for me, I'm excited to see Gibbs smile and laugh and guide the new staff along to what I think is going to happen, the show's conclusion. In our fan fiction, the group can still be finding dead sailors all over DC, but I suspect next season will be its last. Or it should be.

I think you are beautiful just The Way You Are NAS.

Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
I once had a 2009 mercury marquis, not unlike the episode "Revenge" where Tony and Ziva get hit at the light, I was stopped at a red light when I was broadsided by an unlicensed teen, I asked the body shop owner what he could do, he said nothing, you car is toast, and so is this show.

Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
There's nothing wrong with this show. For me it's perfect
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
The show is good, but it's just not compelling TV like it once was..the actors are showing their age..Harmon seems bored and tired.
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
the show has gone on so long that frankly I don't think there is anything. Gibbs must be retirement age by now, Ducky is about 90, amd hpw many more corpses can he dissect? how long can abby go on being a wacky teenager? Is there anyone in the navy left to murder? there must be more marines murdered than die in battle, going by this show. and diNozo has gone. What is left? mcgee is nice, but where will he be without diNozzo to banter with? The expression 'flogging a dead horse' springs to mind.
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
Well Casey it is Christmas season, maybe they could have an immaculate conception. Oh wait, they did that last season with Ziva's daughter.
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
Maybe Abby can crap out a monkey and tie it in to a poaching story.

No, I don't think that.
I think this show has has fans who have just lost interest.

Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
I find posts like this on every successful TV show. The poster acts like the show is sinking like the Titanic, then you check and find the show is No 2 ratings-wise on TV.
I know, I knowyou think the show is on it's last legs. Every show that really is on it's last legs would kill for this show's viewing numbers.

Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
I agree that the show isn't what it was. But there are only so many stories you can tell, I suppose. I use to catch this show live every Tuesday. Now, I DVR it and watch it when I have free time. I use to love it, but now, it's just an average show to me. I just don't like the new characters. Oh well, I watch the reruns on USA all the timelol
Re: How To 'Fix' The Show
I wouldn't mind if there was more personal and less murder, the relationships and friendships are the things that keep this show as number one. My issue is Bishop and the way she has highjacked the show. NCIS is Gibbs show not Bishop's show. Tim is rarely seen even though he's the senior agent. Abby has become the expert on everything forensic or not and even though Tim was the computer expert, its now Abby or Bishop. Why? Bishop came from NSA. That is intellegience and spy work, not active field work and not a computer expert. I understand that the new agents are good in the field but why are they delegated to sitting in a car at a stake out all of the time? Unfortunately for us there are very few lifetime characters left, Tim's dad is dead, Gibbs dad is gone, Ducky's mom is dead and Franks, Gibbs ex and even Trent Kort. All of the things they we love are no more.
How To 'Fix' The Show
Just wondering.
