Second season superior to first… so far

So far I'm liking the second season better than the first one. It's not the best show, but I liked margo figuring out they're comic relief and the test for the crowns was kind of hilarious. Plus, I find Martin to actually be an interesting villain.

Re: Second season superior to first… so far

I don't know about the first point yet, (but of course they are in Fillary!) Like in the books, they mope way too much.

Martin *is* interesting. He's a type of villain that is difficult for me because he was abused, but you still have to deal with him as he is now and the horrible things he does. In the last book there is mention made that he was a protector of the other children and may have been protecting the rest of them from Plover.

I sort of think his shade will end up being in that grave they passed.

I hope they don't remove Julia's soul. In the books it wasn't a cure for her pain; it caused her pain. Plus, there's the whole aspect involved of the effects of rape and in the book it destroys her humanity. Yes, she becomes a demigod but do you really want a main character so functionally destroyed by her rape. I want her to be a hero too.

I like how she's always thinking. She's trying to feel her way through to a victory.

Loving the semi alliance with Julia and Martin. I hope he doesn't screw her over before killing Richard. I read the books a long time ago, but I don't recall this plot in the books right? This is added to the TV show?

I thought the first episode was okay. Disappointed that Julia keeps making bad decisions and forming alliances with even worse people. It's like she never learns from her mistakes.
