Why is YaYa a bitch? Because's she's beautiful, talented, and real? Because she doesn't want to fit into that fake, white girl image Tyra herself tries so hard to pretend she didn't conform into? In case you haven't notice Rick, models aren't saints. Most of them are bitches who use their looks to get what they want and don't care who they affect in the process. Take it from someone who has taken various internships with modeling agencies, don't let the cameras fool you.

It's funny to me how much emphasis is placed on YaYa's behavior on Top Model, while overlooking how the other girls acted. If any of the girls from Season 3 deserve the title "bitch," it's most definitely Anne. She treated Eva like sh-t on the bottom of her shoes most of the time and all people can complain about is YaYa? lol..wow.

No Anne, was straight-up co-dependent and a psycho! Eva had better make sure Anne isn't stalking her ass! LOL!!!

YAYA was portrayed as the miss bitch on ANTM. Which wasnt fair: at least they could have shown others that was equally as bitchy.

But the clips they edited shown her as, well being a bitch. She was arrogant and there is no need to say that she wasnt, because the statements she made put herself into the category of a prick,lol. Lets be honest. it doesnt matter if she beautiful (which felt when i first saw her i thought she was WOW, then after she opened her mouth i was like ILL). She put herself on a pedestal when it wasnt needed she was being Nasty and catty just like the other girls in the house.

I hate it when ppl try to act like their better than the ppl they see before them: when their do the EXACT same thing: but its suppose to be different, i guess bcz its them, and they feel free to own "important air"

She wore this shirt that meant: was it "respect" after the whole brownie incident, but just in a the previous episode she was so disrespectful and nasty to one of the girls. I was like OH Please she just want to add her 2 CENTS and say: what she doesnt even believe in herself. Like its wrong to this and that: Honestly why add your 2 cents when NObody asked you and NObody asked her to "so called" defend someone only to express her true feelings to a person she secretly hate.

and YaYa was stuck up: when they handed her the Kinte(sp) cloth she was like. This isnt REAL Kinte! I was like you idiot so what! Its what your suppose to wear, if she want to take a stand let it be for her stuck attitude.

i don't think so. nnenna on this season is confident, educated, well spoken and black and people like her a lot. i bet she wins the season and she deserves to because she's got the most potential from what ive seen so far out of all the girls imo.

yaya, on the other hand, was just rude, condescending, and snobby. pretty and educated from a great school yes, but her personality was just not appealing. anyway hopefully she's changed since her next top model days.

Honestly, i think ppl accept "blacks" from other countries faster and easier then they accept american blacks.. I think Ya Ya is beautiful as well as sweet. she is a kind, giving and AMAZING person. I have seen her numerous times and each time, she makes me want to cheer her on more.. EVERYONE has emotions, we are all HUMAN so sometimes our moods do change and even swing.. ANTM was edited A LOT so I would not trust anything where you dont get to see the WHOLE story

I won't go as far as calling Yaya a bitch because I really don't know her, however, I will say that I found her to be arrogant and snobbish on ANTM.

Furthermore, I'll say that Yaya isn't as well-spoken in person as she was on TV. I had the (dis)pleasure of listening to Yaya this past Saturday evening (5/6/06) at an award1354s ceremony for a Harlem-based not-for-profit organization where Yaya was the Keynote Speaker. As a young woman who touts her ability to speak multiple languages, she has not mastered English or the ability to speak clearly, eloquently, or effectively before an audience. Her "speech" was filled with "ums, errs, likes," redundancy, and nonsensical comments. The message she was trying to convey was disjointed and irrelevant to her audience young urban girls between the ages of 6 and 17yrs old. She lacked focus and rambled on so much that I had to excuse myself from the room lest I be further disgusted by her presence. Many of the parents at my table were just as upset as I. Yaya also had the annoying habit of smacking each time she opened her mouth! Well, you could have stuck a fork in me, I was DONE!

As confident, regal, and eloquent and as she appeared to be on that reality show, Miss DaCosta is far from well-spoken or eloquent in "real" life!

Actually you all are passing judgement on someone you dont know at all, on someone you've never even met! Remember reality shows are EDITED folks and what you see isnt always what you get. I actually had the opportunity to work with Yaya on the set of a pilot for a major television network. She was one of the main characters and she works very hard and actually is a VERY nice person. I spoke with her a while on set, she's professional, open, hard working, and again NICE. You all are so quick to judge, but remember television is for entertainment and they have to grab your attention somehow to sucker you into watching their shows so they dont lose out on $$$.

All I can say is I love me some YaYa. She's definitely beautiful and she seems like she could be very nice. I agree, reality tv shows are so scripted and YaYa start knocking out the mini-competitions (with the prizes and so forth, everyone tried to see as much evil in her as possible. IMO Eva (who I still think is beautiful) fit the archetype of a "bitch" and "fake" I mean c'mon did you see the way she treated her "friend" and talked behind her back.

Although I think some editing on the show made her look worse you can't deny that she said some things that you could only describe as arrogant and condescending. I don't want her to be an actress but I think she would make a good model and I'd like her to be the way I want virtually all models to be; pretty but keeping their mouths shut.

I guess that's why so many of the housemates reported later that they didn't like Eva from day one until the very end, yet NO HOUSEMATES said the same for Yaya, and nearly ALL of them have nice things to say about her.

sorry to say but the people who make it in this business have to be willing to step over anyone and everyone to make it. i know that sounds horrible but too bad its true, now there are those that cover it up well, and appear more humble, and those who are just straight up bitches, like naomi campbelleither way..they are all out only for themselves..is it any surprise that she is the way she is? it shouldnt be.

I am an African American woman and I'll be the first to speak out against black stereotypes, and commend positive role models in the back community..but I just don't think that YaYa (as portrayed on the show..I don't know if it's equivalent to the girl in reality) is one. I don't care how well-educated and "afrocentric" she is.

I would have rooted for her if she didn't have a nasty personality. That ruined the entire package for me and I didn't see any growth in her at all, unlike Eva who came in with a Diva attitude and left without it.

Even YaYa's comment on the last episode (something along the lines of) "I guess they wanted someone a little more bubbly", as if Eva was only chosen because of her bubbly personality.

I agree with a previous post that Nnenna is more of a positive image of an non-stereotypical African American woman than YaYaand for the record yes she is an American citizen born in the U.S.A and not a "foreigner" though she mentioned she moved back to Africa and then back to the States hence the accent.

I think that both Eva & Naima differ from the stereotypical image of African American women that we see in the media. Nevertheless I am happy for YaYa's emerging career in acting, hopefully she will grow to be more humble and just be thankful for her many blessings.

Regardless to what anyone says, you can't deny- the girl's doing pretty well for herself, coming out of reality TV. Arrogant or not.

Yaya was a great role model for me, it is incredibly hard to stick to your beliefs when all the factors around are telling you to fit in and change who you are and she did which is great.

Yaya is clearly very pretty and talented, let's not forget that she worked very hard to earn her impressive education.

Dude, just 'cos she was potrayed as a bitch on the show, doesn't necessarily mean she is one in real life. I didn't watch a lot of Season 3, but she didn't really come across as a bitch to me. She just has a different way of putting things, so you automatically assume the chicks a bitch!

Yaya was just real. She told it like it was she knew she was the best and is the best. I dont know why they would think to pick Eva over her I see Eva and she still models like a beginner.
