Mr. Robot : on the sit-com episode (spoilers)
Re: on the sit-com episode (spoilers)
The Ray storyline really happened. I took the sitcom environment to be Elliot disassociating from abuse as to not have to feel the physical pain. And the sitcom environment suggests that Elliot may have started to disassociate from abuse since his childhood

This was my interpretation. The Ray/Warden plot reminded me of the ending of "The Shawshank Redemption", as did other parts of that story (Leon, the guy who "can get things'!). We don't see Ray being dragged out, and maybe he just killed himself, like the warden in TSR? but it's not really important.
I thought the big thing was the bonding between Elliot and his image of his father, that he sees the Dad now as someone who "took those blows" for him out of love. Still, the intensity of his hallucination should really have him in a nuthouse!
I followed all the rulesand you followed none of them. And they all loved you more.

but later in the show we learn that the Ray storyline never happened, that Elliot has been in prison and Ray is just the warden. so back to the sit com if he wasn't beaten by Ray for the particulars of that hack job, then what happened? was he beaten by other inmates for something unknown? or was it a made up dream within a dream?
