i wasnt sure at first in Tenacious D pick of destiny wheather they had made Jack Black young using computer technology or dressed him up to look realy young or wheather it was a different actor, cos he looks so much like Jack it's insane

Yeh the kids facial expressions are just spot on. I was laughing at them so much at the start of the movie when he sings kickapoo.

How much more exact can you get?
I wonder if Jack was present at the first castings and was overwhelmed by the kid's talent and incredible resemblance.
I also wonder if the kid studied Jack for a while or maybe they made faces at eachother for several hours.
Whatever the case, this kid is effin' AWESOME.

I was thinking the exact same thing!
I seriously thought that it was just some little chubby kid and they just used some fancy CGI and stuck Jack Black's face on him.

I actually thought at first till I read the ending credits, that the kid may have been jack's kid or family member at least since he was so dead on in looking like him..

He did an awesome job! We had to replay it a few times when he was playing the guitar at the beginning. He has the same looks, moves, etc. Perfect choice in my opinion.

The casting was dead on. I think they did a great job in The Departed casting little Matt Damon too.

he IS awesome. i was one of those people who thought they used effects on jack black and made him younger it was a perfect casting. i played and replayed it trying to see if it was the same jack black, and i was surprised when i saw in the credits that it was a real actor.

The problem with this one is that if he does still look like JB when he gets older is that he'll probably be asked to play him in a biopic :P

In an interview jack black said that he made a video of himself singing and moving to the song and the kid studied it but threw in some extra stuff

Seriously I love Tenacious D and I think their music is viral. The casting of this kid was genious! I had to look him up on IMDB thinking he was JB's little bro. He was incredible, the facial expressions the physical resemblence was eerie.
