Re: Channel

dont have that channel cause i dont know what cable or satellite company that is.
but i found it with 3 eps at www.vidics.ch and youtube.com has it.

i noticed no one has mentioned who played the orion slave owner and the commadore.
took me few minutes but did know who he was, lou ferrigno and the commodore and i havent seen her in years and didnt recognize her at all til i saw her name erin grey in the credits who was in the tv series buck rogers of the 25th century.

Re: Channel

It doesn't come on any channel. It is a fan made non-profit series that is released exclusively on the Internet. CBS (the current owners of the rights to Star Trek) allow such fan productions to be made and released as long as the people making them do not profit financially from them.

You can find all of the episodes and vignettes released thus far, as well as some behind-the-scenes videos, here:

Re: Channel

when did cbs owned the rights to star trek when it was first on nbc in 66.
was it because when next gen was on cbs station? but the rest i dont think was on cbs cause paramount network came around and took over i think on voyager and enterprise.
is the paramount network channel still around? last time i saw it when i had the dish and got the extra 5 channels of 3 wbs when it was that name long before new new one now and 2 paramounts.
i do know and seen star trek on cbs site for the old episodes. does that have something to do with that?

Re: Channel

It's a bit complicated. The short answer is that CBS acquired the rights in 2005.

From Wikipedia:

At Star Trek's creation, Norway Productions, Roddenberry's production company, shared ownership with Desilu Productions and, after Gulf+Western acquired Desilu in 1967, with Paramount Pictures, the conglomerate's film studio. Paramount did not want to own the unsuccessful show; net profit was to be shared between Norway, Desilu/Paramount, Shatner, and NBC but Star Trek lost money, and the studio did not expect to syndicate it. In 1970 Paramount offered to sell all rights to Star Trek to Roddenberry, but he could not afford the $150,000 ($914,000 in 2007) price.

In 1989, Gulf+Western renamed itself as Paramount Communications, and in 1994 merged with Viacom. In 2005, Viacom divided into CBS Corporation, whose CBS Television Studios subsidiary retained the Star Trek brand, and Viacom, whose Paramount Pictures subsidiary retained the Star Trek film library and rights to make additional films, along with video distribution rights to the TV series on behalf of CBS.
