No.It would require Erica to actually develop some insight and look past Geoff's goofiness and see a guy who may actually care for her and she can't do that.She's too worried about image unlike Lainey who actually did realize that in spite of his goofiness and idiocy Barry really cared for her

I actually think they will do that. He's going to treat her like a queen. I believe she will like it. Hopefully she doesn't walk all over him. He seems like a nice guy. That was a nice moment when she gave the look and Lionel Richie is singing in the background. Awesome.

I think him actually giving up is what's going to win her over.

She's going to miss the attention he was giving her and appreciate all the trouble he went through.

Sometimes when you're putting the full court press when trying to get a girl, you get the push back.

Relationships are like a rubber band. You got to back off and give a little space, let that rubber band bounce back and let them come towards you. Constantly putting pressure on the rubber band will make it snap.

Indians used to chase wild horses all day. The Horses would of course run from them. The Indians figured out if they didn't chase the horses, the horses would come to them. About 3 Indians would go to where the wild horses were and just sit there all day. The horses would get curious and approach the Indians. Definitely. Has she even had a BF this entire series? I don't think she has. I missed several eps in the beginning, so she could have then. I think it is unrealistic that she wouldn't have a BF.

She dated the Kremps older son across the street in an earlier episode (The Age Of Darkness S1 Ep21)before he dumped her but,apart from that,I don't think so.Which is why I think Geoff is a possibility because while Erica is one of the 'cool' crowd,the associated jock-types don't seem to appeal to hera Geoff type (minus the desperate neediness!)would probably be a good match.Hell,if I could turn back time 30 years,she could date me!

If they are going to do this, I do hope they dial back Geoff's neediness. That would be good. It would be funny to see double dates with Barry/Lainey and these two.

Plus, it would lead to more opportunities to write different episodes, thus extending the great show that it is.
I'm so happy that they extended it for another season.

Erica's too wrapped up in herself and her image. Once high school ends, she will realize she's not the queen bee anymore.

I think she has high standards as far as who she would date. Many guys are idiots, so I do get it to some degree. But I would think she would be in high demand in high school because she is hot as hell. The show though hasn't gone that route though. I wouldn't be surprised if she dated next season. Probably not with Geoff. Adam has said it won't happen this season. Not sure about next season though.

The same storyline as Barry and Laniey is being told. Jeff has a crush on Erica for a long time but he thinks she's out of his league but they start to have little bonding moments. I think they had their first mutual connection when they danced together at the end of the Dirty Dancing episode. Erica's face really softened to him for the first time.

Geoff Scwartz is a Ducky. That was the name of John Cryer's character in the movie "Pretty in Pink".

well it was her own faultI don't care how hot she is her personality sucksI mean you either have to have low self esteem and a bad self image of yourself or a shallow evil personality who only looks at the surface and cares about good looks to make fun of a guy who tells you that your special and wonderful and looks at you the way Geoff looked at Ericayeah Geoff may come off as goofy sometimes and over does it but at least he would treat Erica like a princess and really try to do better for her..

Every scene with them both in has clearly been leading to it.

Erica must be the hardest one to write since her real-life counterpart was a guy. It seems like they would have to think about Eric and try to detect any gay tendencies or any bromances he had. I thought this might have been the case in the Rush episode, since apparently only guys, for the most part, liked Rush. The simplest solution would be if it turns out she's into girls.

It doesn't matter that Geoff would treat Erica well. If she doesn't see him like that, then she doesn't see him like that. If he doesn't "push her buttons", if she isn't attracted to him, how is that her problem?

In the last episode, she was going to give him a chance, but he was with some other girl. Maybe he's moved on for good, but I doubt that we've seen the last of this particular storyline. In real life, if a girl goes out with the "Ducky", I wouldn't expect it to last that long. IMO Erica may have developed a momentary curiousity and infatuation with Geoff, but I doubt that it will be able to sustain itself.

But it wasn't the first time Erica has thought about it. She did look at him a different way in the Lionel ep as well. Then interestingly enough the girl who he is dating now interrupted her train of thought. I believe the writers did that on purpose. Had a little call back there.

This trope gets played over and over again. Dorky loser pines for the hot chick and she eventually sees what a great catch he is and falls for him. Not only does it never happen in real life, people aren't realizing exactly what's really going on in these movies and shows.

First, the guy is almost always in love with her almost exclusively because of her looks. Who's the shallow one again? Best of all is that these guys, while placing so much importance on looks themselves, rarely if ever do anything to improve their own looks/style.

Second, if the first point didn't break your illusion that he's so nice, consider that he's not nearly as "nice" as he is ingratiating. He puts her on a pedestal and treats her like a queen in large part because he's hoping to get her to like him back by doing so. How many times have you heard a "nice" guy call a girl a shallow bitch because she can't recognize how great he is and date him? So if she's not attracted to and choose HIM, then the only logical conclusion is that she's shallow?

Third, if he's only nice to her, then he's not that nice after all, is he?

Fourth, the niceness that we see these guys displaying is more often than not actually weakness. They don't speak up for what they really want and give way to others out of fear of rejection or of being disliked.

Still think these guys are all so sweet and nice? No. They are human. They are selfish. They are shallow. They judge unfairly. They have egos the size of Mt. Everest in a sense.

Notice these guys never fall head over heels for plain/unattractive women? Except Barry and Lainey. He is clearly in real love with her because he sees her as beautiful even though she's a butterface.

I think it's a trick. Evelyn's feigning interest in Geoff as a means of pushing him and Erica together. Love to see a scene where Erica finally admits her feelings to him while Head Over Heels by Tears for Fears is playing and Evelyn reveals the act and that no matter how much time Geoff spent with her, he clearly couldn't stop thinking about Erica.

someone suggested Evelyn was gonna try to change Geoff to be what she wanted him to be. that would be even better for the trick. Evelyn could make Geoff think he's happy when he's actually miserable with her just to completely reaffirm his feelings for Erica too.
