BoA : No one's here…

No one's here…

hmmm no one's here...hmm well that's cool :) let's see who else is cool besides BoA...AYA UETO!!! How come imdb does not have her movie, AZUMI here?! It's such a good movie!!! ^^;;; And there's Ayumi Hamazaki, another jpop singer. Ummmm who else??? W-inds! ^_^ and Flame! ^_^ and LEAD! ^_^ wow...this is getting off topic...

Re: No one's here…

I wish I had found this board sooner. I love BoA! I've never seen her act, but I love her voice/dancing. It's good to know you like w-inds and LEAD too. I think we've covered some ground on who we like from FLAME, but who do you like best from w-inds and LEAD? I like Ryuichi 238 and Shinya best. :) Wow....this really is off topic. ^_^

Re: No one's here…

i like ryuichi of w-inds ^^...and umm for LEAD i dun really know...they're all so young and cute ^^...hiroki is like the gentlemen and acts so cute! even though he's the oldest in the group ^^...yes i like hiroki best :D

hehe boa is awesome!!! i heard she was going to be cho chang in harry potter...but that's just a rumour..i doubt it'll happen though -__- it'd be nice!!! ^^

Re: No one's here…

I agree with you : BoA is great ! so sorry I don't know (yet) Aya Ueto neither Flame nor LEAD but I know another singer who did a duet with BoA : Koda Kumi. She is also a young talented singer.
Therefore, Ayumi Hamasaki is not just another jpop singer... To my mind, she is the "japanese Madonna" and currently Queen of jpop, even if Boa is not far behind !
That's what I wanted to say... ^_^

Re: No one's here…

if you've noticed, neither of the credits on her page are those of acting. they're both for songs, therefore she has notacted yet, at least that i know of. Man, i remember loving boa's music a few years back, but living in the US, you have to work a bit to keep up with pop culture all the way in Korea. Naturally, i drifted away from what is known as "K-pop", and i actually listen to a lot of music labeled as "indie" or "alternative". Looking back and listening to some of her songs, i do not think that Boa has a very good voice. I mean, of course she's not tone-deaf (unless her recordings are computerized) thankfully, but there is some weird, hollow, coated aspect of her voice which makes it incredibly hard to listen without noticing it. I find her voice very annoying, her songs superficial and fluffy (no deep meaning, just catchy synth instrumentals and happy, generic lyrics), and her dance moves alright. Because after all, anyone would be able to dance like that after having been trained for a few years (like she has). It's a little hard to explain Boa's rise to fame in both Korea and Japan, because to me she seems just an ordinary pretty face disguised behind designer clothes, airbrushed pictures, and so-so music that is made more for appealing to the youth than for being remembered. Boa may have lasting power, but i do not think many will regard her as being a very good musician. I think she's just another teen icon, but only time will tell what legacy she leaves on music.

All in all,
you're just another brick in the wall.

Re: No one's here…

What?

That is such a garbage!

Not only has BoA worked more than just "a few years" at her dancing, she's actually one of the world's best dancers, and most of all...

SHE HAS AN INCREDIBLE VOICE!

She really does have the most beautiful voice. I fallen in love with her every time I hear her song.

You're completely wrong to talk about her in such a way.

Re: No one's here…

Yes, her voice at times seems "empty" and then there are times when her voice shines through and you realize her uniqueness. Her voice is pretty and harmonic but has a sound to it that keeps you listening. Her dancing is excellent. I find it amazing that she can dance and sing at the same time (although I'm disspointed that a couple of times she lip-synched like Brittney Spears [sp?]). Yes, she was trained to be a star but it took her willingness and desire not to just fall apart. There are a few times when I wonder if she needs to just take a break from tours, recording, interviews, and her whole career. Personally, I would be burnt out.

I like to think of myself as a good judge of singing talent/ musician talent, even though one could argue and say that I don't dance, nor sing, nor compose music, how the heck can I be a good judge of talent? I listen to MANY different STYLES of music. I listen to Ofra Haza(I count her as a genre of her own, lol), classical, opera, some rap, K-pop, C-pop, J-pop, sometimes Euro-pop, Latin, alternative, Christian contemporary, folk songs, country music, rock (soft, classic), bubble-gum pop (yes, and not ashamed...much anyway), show tunes, etc.etc.

I think that BoA is ok. She's not the best singer in the world, but she is a good one. You can get an overdose of her voice sometimes if she's all you listen to, but she's ok to listen to every now and then. She can dance Amuro Namie and Brittney off the stage and sing them off it too. You're entitled to your own opinion, off course. Her voice is probably not for everyone's tastes.

(*looks back at what she wrote* Man, I wrote a lot! Sorry for the long post, lol. :)

Re: No one's here…

but you shold hear her new album "Girls on Top". her voice this time actually seems more passionate and stronger than before. but you're right she's not the greatest in the world. i dunno, i like it :P
