Eddie Steeples : Little Eddie Steeples all growed up!

Wow what a small world! I grew up with Eddie Steeples. We used to sometimes hang-out and raid this guy's pool that down the street where we lived. He was always a fast-talker, getting himself "invited" to all sorts of parties and such.

I had no idea what happened to him until just today. I didn't even recognize his face on the Office Max posters (although we used to laugh at the funky split fro).

Funny thing, in high school, he was *always* borrowing money. Fifty-cents here, a quarter there until he had enough money for luch. Now, he probably makes more money than all of us combinded. Wonder if I can get my fifty cents back from him now?

I worked with Eddie as a political phone canvasser briefly back in the mid-nineties (1994, I think) with New Jersey Citizen Action. Funny, I loved the OfficeMax commercials, and have seen My Name is Earl a few times, but I just caught it last night for the first time, with the credits, and I see his name - and it allll came flooding back. Now I can't help but see the quiet, smooth-talker I knew (albeit with MUCH shorter hair) every time I see him in the show.
He used to talk about wanting to act and do comedy, like so many college kids do, but it's cool to see a nice guy like Eddie make it for a change!

Why? Do these celebrities grow up not knowing anybody? There are lots of people in Des Moines that I know, that know a good deal of the members of Slipknot. It's not impossible.

does this guy beleive celebrities are all born on some celebrity island somewhere in the south pacific where only celebrities come from and they only know other celebrities why is it do hard to beleive?
