The Dirties : My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Good, interesting theory. I agree, I don't think there's any intent to kill Owen. Though, I do think it was kind of odd that Matt completely dropped his plans at the end to chase Owen down just to say "Hey, it's just me".
Also, you got Owen's name right in your first paragraph but then in your second paragraph you call him Matt about 5 times. Could be a bit confusing for others reading.

That sounds like a good theory!

Ah crap I did. Thanks for the heads up I'm gonna correct it.
Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Not a chance, mostly because it wasn't Mr. Bird who forced them to change the movie, it was Mr. Muldoon.
Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Just watched this, and wow it shook me to my core. I need to let it sink it, but it's really a small slice of cinematic genius.
I really don't know if he would kill Owen. I think he was so unstable, however, that should Owen say anything that would rub Matt the wrong way, he most definitely would. Such as the early scene when Owen flips out and Matt rushes at him.
Also, sure he was acting friendly, but there was no life or soul left behind those eyes. He had gone literally insane by that point.
Great performance, by the way.

Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
I almost wish there was more of a reason for me to think he would kill Owen to make the scene more powerful.
"Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never

Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
I hated the final scene at first. I wanted to see a lot of vengeance. But now that I read on here I see it becomes a thought piece. Personally I think they created a good movie from all aspects. Real life bullies, a kid who wants vengeance, and someone who would dream about it daily but be scared if it ever went down.
Re: My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Awesome theory, I didn't even think about it, I thought Chrissy at first but that just didn't feel right. This makes a lot more sense. And also, eloquently put. Thanks!
My theory on one particular unanswered scene **SPOILERS**
Here's why I don't think it was either Owen or Chrissy's name. Firstly, Owen. During the shooting scene, he runs to find Owen and the very last scene is him casually talking to Owen in the same friendly way; "What are doing, man? It's me". He legitimately didn't feel the weight of his actions. The shooting was nothing to him and he was friendly and casual toward Owen as usual. As for Chrissy, he spent the entire movie trying to hook Owen up with Chrissy. He wanted them to get together and did everything he could to make it happen. He would not kill Chrissy because of this, and also, it would hurt Owen.
