Spectre : This series needs to breathe in new life

Gone are the days when the Craig films are considered 'new' and 'refreshing'. It's gotten tiring at this point. They need to change the tone and style of the movies.

Spectre tried that, and it failed miserably because behind the goofy scenes, it's still a bleak and tired setup, that is still largely inspired by The Dark Knight. The thing is The Dark Knight is no longer go-to inspiration for the style of action films anymore. They have gotten more fun and edgy since then.

They need to rethink about how they can keep the series going. It might have to include getting rid of Craig, because you know once an actor get's old, he's going to drag down the whole film with him. It happened with Connery, Moore and now Craig. This franchise needs a new Bond, a new style, and a new direction. Go back and watch the older films and look at what made them successful, and then update it for a new audience.

Also get rid of Thomas Newman. He's score for Spectre sucked. Didn't even sound like he tried. Dragged the whole film down by miles. It's time for a new twist on the Bond music, like in TSWLM, FYEO, GE, and Arnold's score for the Brosnan films. I don't mind if they incorporate Trap music into it. I think it can sound modern and intense.

Couldn't agree more! That is the major problem, it missed the boat my a good two years. If the original time table for Spectre happened in 2014, it might have been close enough to still squeak by with being the last of the "dark knight" rip offs. But once Mendes delayed production by a full year, the genre had moved on from this dark and bleak garbage and no amount of "happy" reshoots were going to salvage it. At it's heart, Spectre is still just a depressing "Poor James" storyline and they need to move away from this asap!

YES!!!!! We used to get great modern renditions of the bond theme too! Where did those go? All we get (If we are lucky!) is the classic Bond theme here and there. Time to stop *beeping* around and get back on track!

Who's strangling the cat?

They should look to marvel and do a mix of seriousness and fun with some quick one liners and intense action and breath taking stunts

I'll NEVER forgive Mendes for not just hiring Newman once BUT TWICE after he failed miserably with the Skyfall score. Bond movies were truly the last films to feature a great score and soundtrack as everything is heading in the direction of Newman's style (because it's quick, easy and cheap). I'm afraid if they don't bring Arnold back, you can kiss ever hearing a kick ass Bond soundtrack ever again.

YES they need this kind of score for the next Bond film. Badass and intense.
