Unfinished Business : Sex scenes

Sex scenes

Sex fetish? My 16 year old has seen fight club and wolf. Is this movie better than those, as far as the sex scenes go? Some scenes are just way too literal. Should I let him see it? He really wants to. Thanks.

Re: Sex scenes

yes you should
very little is shown

Re: Sex scenes

We saw it. I'm sorry. What part of penises in a glory hole is considered very little shown. Or the wheelbarrow sex acts. It was a little too much information - a 16 year old doesn't need to know sex positions that an adult would at this time. He can wait until he goes to college!

Re: Sex scenes

troll

Re: Sex scenes

Most kids know all that by fifth grade. How did you grow up and forget what it was like in public school?

Re: Sex scenes

I took little Jimmy to it last night. He's only six, but he understood all the sexual references. Kids grow up so fast these days

Seriously though, this movie looks like sh!t.

Re: Sex scenes

News flash most 16 year old are very familiar with most sex positions. To say that teenagers shouldn't know about sex until college is actually funnier then anything in this movie because that average age people are losing their virginity is 16. I get it though the person who commented after your original post was being a jerk but. I can tell you that by the age of 16 teenagers know quite a bit. It's not like we remain ignorant about sex and then once we start college it's a like a ray of sexy sunlight rains down on us and we begin to acquire knowledge.

Re: Sex scenes

So what if there are some (fake) penises? His is 16 years old for christ sake, he has probably seen more action on the internet than you can imagine.

Re: Sex scenes

It's just plain weird for kids and full-on dong gags (no pun), to be in the same Show, period -
come-on Vince.. read the damn shooting script/(notes) before make-up and a joint..!

Re: Sex scenes

Isn't it ironic that it just so happens to be a depiction of the homosexual lifestyle in this case? I'd call it a more than a coincidence, but the most militant of these deviants know they have to pervert the minds of kids to reach full-on legitimacy eventually. In the meantime, they've pushed their way into the courts and Washington, DC like nobody's business, and they're going to make sure you know about it.

Re: Sex scenes

That is true. I just don't want to admit that my 16 year old knows these things. The movie itself had some funny parts but for most of it it was stupid funny. Good acting by the guy who played Mike Pancake.

Re: Sex scenes

It might be suitable for a 16 year old, but I'm sure you would feel uncomfortable watching it with your son. Here is a breakdown for anybody intersted: (***Caution: CONTAINS SPOILERS ***)

The main protaganists visit a co-ed sauna that supposedly features fully nude patrons. However, towels and camera angles are strategically placed so that only brief glimpses of non-genital nudity can be scene (breasts and buttocks). The main character then proceeds to negotiate with a naked female character who talks about "american prudishness" and she spreads her legs apart. Ironically, the film producers are very prudish when it comes to showing female genitalia, as the camera is kept above her genitalia the entire time so the audience never sees any actual female genitalia, not even her pubic hair. Only her breasts are briefly seen. All of the nudity in this scene is non-genital nudity only and very brief. Most parents would consider it acceptable for anybody over the age of 12.

There are a couple more brief scenes of non-genital nudity. One involves a pillow-fight with a quick glimpse of female breasts. Two other scenes show a couple performing a "wheelbarrow" sex position in the nude. Nothing graphic is shown, only brief non-genital nudity (male buttocks and female breasts). Once again, most parents would consider the nudity in these scenes acceptable for anybody over the age of 12.

Later, there is a graphic scene in the washroom of a gay bar. There are three glory holes in the wall and and a man's flaccid penis comes protruding out of one of them. Then, a few seconds later another flaccid penis comes out of one of the other holes. Both penises can clearly be scene for several seconds while a conversation occurs with one of the main characters. Suddently, a very large flaccid penis (probably 9 or 10 inches) pokes through one of the other holes and bumps against the main character's back. He is startled and they show a clear view of the big hairy penis for a few seconds. Then, another character (named "Mike Pancake") comes into the washroom and goes up to introduce himself to the person behind the hole in the wall. He mistakes the penis for a hand and attempts to shake it. You see his hand about to touch the penis as the camera pans away, and the character exclaims that he "just touched a penis". Then he somehow trips and it appears that his face briefly brushes against the penis as he falls. Overall this scene is very graphic for a mainstream film and many people would likely find it offensive and disgusting, and most parents would consider it suitable only for those over the age of 17. This scene also seems very strange and out of place, since when a female character was naked earlier in the film and spreading her legs, the film makers were very careful to "keep it tasteful" and NOT show any of her actual genitalia, but when the male characters are naked in this scene, three penises are clearly shown. This appears to be a double-standard and some people might find this genital nudity double-standard offensive and wonder why male genitalia can be clearly shown, but not female genitalia. This scene is mostly played to generate uncomfortable laughs from the audience and to generate shock value, but it seems extreme in relation to the other nudity in the film, which is all mild, brief, non-genital nudity.

Re: Sex scenes

I've always known the rule to be no excited/erect penis can be shown in regular, non porn movies but flaccid is ok. So I don't understand why the vagina can't be shown, if you used that same philosophy because you would have to be pretty damn close to see a stimulated/engorged vagina or clitoris. No?

Re: Sex scenes

I am not a parent so I don't know how you guys roll, but where I live most of the time parents come in with kids as young as 9 or 10 to R rated movies like Gone Girl (graphic nudity) and others. Nudity /sexuality is not considered a big deal around here in the EU.

Re: Sex scenes

Except If it is salo, when i saw it for the first time i thought i had seen everything. Boy was i wrong.

Re: Sex scenes

i think the wheelbarrow position is pretty self-explanatory and most kids would get what it is. and there isn't much of a difference between glory holes in this movie and high school gym shower time. so this one was pretty tame. i think the subject of fisting on the other hand might be cause for concern but that did not take place in this movie. you could really hurt someone doing that incorrectly.

Re: Sex scenes

I tried to talk to my 15 year old son about sex, yet 30 minutes later, I am the one taking notes.

"Tell me, do you bleed? You will."

Re: Sex scenes

Mom: Honey, you're 14 now, I think it's time we talk about sex.
Daughter: Sure, mom! What do you want to know?
