Mr Selfridge : The ending

The ending

season 4 ending spoilers:
Mr Selfridge real-life ending was far more interesting in comparison to what was shown. The dolly sisters, the great depression (which was barely mentioned in the series) and him being even mistaken for a homeless man, denied entrance to his own store. Now, i understand if they wanted to soothe it a bit, but what they went with is in my opinion very cliche and cheap. Especially the part where he ends up with Lady Mae, giving him some romantic happy ending. I liked the show because it tried to be more than just peroid-soap opera, too bad it ended like one.
