Mr Selfridge : Transparency… not used in business back then?

Transparency… not used in business back then?

When the board director talked about trouble at the company and Mr. Selfridge talked about transparency I don't think that was 1920s business lingo.

"It's the system, Lara. People will be different after the Revolution."

Re: Transparency… not used in business back then?

This is also the series where characters were heard uttering: "up your game," "good times (using a 21st-century context)," and "(it was) a one-off)." Some may likely argue the point regarding the last, as it was a term used in business in the early 20th Century. But, at the time in which this teleplay is set, it was mainly an accounting term, and possibly would not have been used colloquially, as it was in this script.
