Mr Selfridge : His teeth

His teeth

Are too white.

Re: His teeth

He's not British.

Re: His teeth

HAHA you are right! Everyone on TV in the US has halogen-white teeth, even bordering on blue! I find it very distracting and the trend is only getting worse, I am sorry to say. Sometimes I find myself staring at people's teeth and not looking them in the eyes like I should. It's just........wrong.

Re: His teeth

I am sure there were not many white teeth around 100 years ago... Whatever nationality.

Re: His teeth

I am sure you are wrong. Chlorine bleach and hydrogen peroxide were both widely used in Europe and the USA from the late 1800s to the 1970s as tooth whitening agents, which the slightest bit of research on your part would have revealed.

Re: His teeth

He doesn't have 'the British smile'.

Re: His teeth

LOL! It's funny how I've watched films for 40 years and I never really paid attention to anyone's teeth until tooth whitening became a thing. Now I notice how yellow people's teeth are in all the color films from the 50s-80s. Damn it, those teeth were perfectly normal until the 90s! (Of course, most of those folks were probably smoking, too.)

Re: His teeth

It's so funny, but true. Last year I found myself watching a classic episode of SNL hosted by Desi Arnez. I've always found him to be a handsome gent at any age, but this time I was completely distracted by his gnarly, cigar-stained teeth! They were probably always stained, but it was less obvious in B&W.

Re: His teeth

He has his Entourage teeth. He should've swished tea around his teeth for a few months before filming for this.

Re: His teeth

His teeth also look whiter because they are surrounded by the black/dark brown hair of his beard & mustache.
