He put off Putin and declined to negotiate until after the election, despite being president and well within his rights to negotiate, and the right was shrieking about how it was horrible and treasonous. But Trump sits in Putin's pocket and has one of his guys go to illegally negotiate with him when he's not even holding any political office at all, and the right is just fine with it.
