John Sharian : American or British?

I've only ever seen this guy in bit parts in British movies (Love Actually; Calendar Girls), so I've just assumed he was a British actor putting on an American accent. But the accent is so flawless that it makes me wonder if he's actually American. Anyone know?

I think he is armenian.
