There's another thread here talking about their salaries, and the kids were making around $40-60,000 a year. If they were smart, they'd be in Vegas making appearances to up their income and take advantage of their 15 minutes of fame.

They can't do that , though. It would raise questions about the show. They can be spotted by people, but that won't make too many waves, as Discovery and ParkSlope can simply wave their hand and say it was a random event that was a side result of something personal in the families lives that they had to do and respect their privacy and also because they happened to be away unexpectedly, bears burned down their cabin and they have to rebuild.AGAIN!

Appearing at things like cons and boat christenings all around the country with press and defined dates would show not only the public, but entities like the State of Alaska that they weren't where they were supposed to be.

What entities would care where they were? The State of Alaska has no interest in them, their only interest in this band of grifters is to make sure the fees are paid for the filming permits for the few weeks a year this bunch spends in Alaska.

Actually, they do, since they(the Brown Clownz) claim benefits from Alaska as part of the Alaska Permanent Fund and also special discounts on things like hunting licenses as "Residents" of Alaska. As a result of a plea deal, only Billy and Josh were charged, had to pay restitution, fines, community service, and serve 30 days, and are no longer allowed to file for Permanent Fund. So if any other members of the family want to claim the fund, or be able to fish and hunt, they have to prove they spend 180 days a year living in Alaska.

As a side note, Billy B Brown paid his $10,000 fine in two $5,000 payments on 12/17/2016. Payment was due on 1/11/2017.

A cursory look at the PFD databases indicate the Browns applied for PFD from 2009 through 2014 and did not apply in 2015 or 2016.

Did the Browns live in Alaska during those years? Residence is not clear UNLESS you examine the PFD court case a little more closely.

Originally there were 24 charges of Unsworn Falsification and Theft against Billy and six charges of Unsworn Falsification and Theft against Joshua. Looking at the DATES OF THE OFFENSE for Billy:

Why so many counts against Billy? My guess he was charged with filing PFD applications for his minor children and himself.

Given that PFD is claimed for the prior year, the State of Alaska determined that the Browns did not live in Alaska from 2009 to 2012. The Brown clan did submit applications for Calendar Year 2013 in 2014 but did not submit any applications for Calendar Years 2014 or 2015. People can take the Brown's failure to file applications for 2014 or 2015 one of two ways - 1. They're making so much money they are willing to forego the PFD even though they live in Alaska OR 2. They don't stay in Alaska long enough to qualify for the PFD. Hell, even the Palin's faithfully submit their applications for the PFD every year.

PFD application highlights (so far):

Amora Jean (Bird) has no entry for 2014. All the other Browns submitted an application that year.

2010 is interesting. Every year (except for 2015 and 2016) there is one entry for Gabriel S Brown except for 2010 there are two. Same for Solomon I Brown (although other years he is listed as either Solomon Brown or Solomon I Brown) two entries for Solomon I Brown in 2010.

In 2010 the number of entries for persons named Joshua and Matthew jump dramatically, specifically for those named Joshua B Brown and Matthew J Brown from previous and later years.
