Christopher Nolan : Next film at the earliest in 2019?

Next film at the earliest in 2019?

I hope he'll give us another film before this decade is out. I'm insanely excited for Dunkirk and I just love that he's giving us that war film this year but I also figure he's already thought about what he's doing next. After all, while he was making Batman Begins he knew he was going to do Prestige next, and so on for every other project. I mean, Dunkirk is going to be one of his biggest films yet so I wonder if he's willing to delve into another story of epic scope next or if he decides to make something on a smaller scale. Honestly, I would love to see him keep pushing the limit and giving us another huge film after Dunkirk but on the other hand I'd love it for him to go back to smaller scale stories. Something along the lines of Memento, Prestige and Insomnia. I would love it to see him make something original next or adapting existing material. I guess it's that they had some preparation done on Prestige that they could go into that so quickly after Batman Begins and release it the following year.
However, I would love to see Nolan deliver us the new Bond film. Yes his Batman films and Inception are rather close on style to Bond but he's once said that it's a matter of when not if. And this so happens to be the most interesting time for him to make a Bond film. Craig seems to be out, or at least I hope so. I thought he was one of the best Bonds we've had but he's getting too old and I think SPECTRE was the perfect send off for Craig, given how they ended the film. As of now, they have to pick a new Bond and revive him in a way that feels fresh and modern for todays world. And today's world is rather different lol. I think Nolan would definitely want to have a big say in who's going to be the next Bond. Obvious candidate now seems Dan Stevens but I wouldn't mind someone new. You can argue that Stevens is still up and coming but Nolan picked quite some fresh faces for Dunkirk.

All in all, I think Nolan is the most interesting filmmaker we have at the moment and I'd love to see him tackle all sorts of genres. And as for Bond, I'd also rather see him making it sooner rather than later. I don't think he'd want to make more than one Bond film so that leaves enough room for other projects once he's done a Bond film.

War, what is it good for?

Re: Next film at the earliest in 2019?

It will be great if he release movie every years.

Re: Next film at the earliest in 2019?

It's not possible to release a movie every year and maintain the level of their quality. The significant part of Nolan's films success is that he has enough time to polish them. As they say, rarely, but to the point.

Nolan, I love you forever!
