Why do people care about their ancestry?

I don't.

Re: Why do people care about their ancestry?

It seems to be a white power sort of thing which is the only context
outside of considering marriage and a family with someone.
For the purposes of comparability or something like that.

After all, you don't want to wind up accidentally raising a family
with a distant relative. Or passing on a genetic illness or defect.

Re: Why do people care about their ancestry?

Whites care less about their heritage, you must be thinking of blacks, who achieve nothing in life except for being black.

If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

Re: Why do people care about their ancestry?

It's just another way for weak people with no sense of self to try to themselves who they really are. I saw an episode of a tv show where spike Lee got all weepy over finding out about his ancestors. People he never even met who have been dead for hundreds of Years. Weak Sense of self and need for melodrama.

Wonder how it goes over if he finds out he's related to Sally Hemmings?
