What makes people think the guy right in front of them is going to become someone else?

He never changed during the campaign, brother. Maybe if he had he would have lost.

I continue to hope/think he will. OTOH, I also thought there was no freaking way he'd be elected President, so my judgement is certainly questionable.

I haven't the slightest hope that he'll change or become more presidential. I hang my hopes on the firm belief that external forces will keep him in checkour governmental system of checks and balances, sane members of the GOP, his daughter, other world leaders, American citizens, the press, etc.
