Politics : Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

Sounds that way

Personally they all should be deported but the blow back would be beyond anything imaginable

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

It's disappointing. But more disappointing is that I don't think Trump is going to sign an executive order mandating E-Verify, or force the GOP congress to do it.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

But trump is at least deporting illegals with felonies

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

which is normal protocol.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

And so did Obama in fact about 3 million of them:

Obama Has Deported More People Than Any Other President

So now, based on your OP, Trump is doing the same thing Obama did except Obama did it better.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

That argument has been beaten down about 16 dozen times now. the Oslama admin considered someone turned away at the border as being deported. His numbers are at least doubled if not tripled as to the REAL number of deportations during his administration. I also assume that the number of real deportations compared to the number who arrived is like emptying a flooded river with a cup during a thunderstorm.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

Did you even click to read the article or are you just being willfully ignorant and have your partisan response all revved up and ready to go? This was taken straight from the article, which had you clicked and read would have saved you from inaccurately posting:

President Barack Obama has often been referred to by immigration groups as the "Deporter in Chief."

Between 2009 and 2015 his administration has removed more than 2.5 million people through immigration orders, which doesnt include the number of people who "self-deported" or were turned away and/or returned to their home country at the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

In addition to the above this was the statement I was responding to:

But trump is at least deporting illegals with felonies

The link I provided discusses the deporting of illegals with felonies. Here is the direct quote taken from the article:

"President Obama directed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to focus on criminals, not families, during his November 2014 executive action on immigration.

According to their website, "ICE has continued to increase its focus on identifying, arresting, and removing convicted criminals in prisons and jails, and also at-large arrests in the interior."

In fiscal year 2015, 91 percent of people removed from inside the U.S. were previously convicted of a crime.

The administration made the first priority "threats to national security, border security, and public safety." That includes gang members, convicted felons or charged with "aggravated felony" and anyone apprehended at the border trying to enter the country illegally.

In 2015, 81 percent, or 113,385, of the removals were the priority one removals.

Priority two includes "misdemeanants and new immigration violators."

That includes "aliens convicted of three or more misdemeanor offenses, other than minor traffic" violations, as well as those convicted of domestic violence, sexual abuse, burglary, DUIs or drug trafficking.
"

The point was that Obama focused on criminals as well, thus establishing that what Trump is doing is nothing special which was what the OP implied.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

Better than Obama's crap. But he could sure do a lot better.

I would be very surprised if he did.

Blaming immigrants and not the companies who hire people is what his rhetoric has been about since day one - and what people, like myself, have been saying. He has outsourced the goods his own companies produce and his US companies continue to hire foreign workers even after becoming President.

He's a business man who will not crack down on big business. He and the Republican Congress are for Big Business and Big Business is for cheap "illegal" labor.

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

NOT if they broke the law beyond entry

I agree with your last statement

You don't have to stand tall, but you do have to stand up!

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

Obama did not deport anyone ; in fact , he did everything possible to flood them in

He lied like a snake and simply counted people turned away at the border

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

in fact , he did everything possible to flood them in

Trump hired them to build and work at his hotels and resorts..
Think he is against illegals?

Re: Trump will keep illegal dreamers ??

President Trump says one thing:

DACA is a very, very difficult subject for me, Trump conceded during a rambling East Room news conference Thursday, promising to address the issue with heart. Its one of the most difficult subjects I have because you have these incredible kids.

And does another:

On Feb. 10, ICE officials detained a 23-year-old Mexico-born man, who had lived in the U.S. since he was 7 years old, had no criminal record and was covered by former President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. DACA creates protections against deportation for a class of immigrants known as Dreamers, who came to the U.S. without documents as children. The El Paso Times reported that on Feb. 9, ICE agents entered a courthouse to detain a Texas woman who was seeking a protective order against an alleged domestic abuser.

https://mic.com/articles/168727/trump-detaining-deport-dreamers-daca-not-criminals#.cedrsXtKS

Basically, President Trump wants to end DACA without any political blowback. Because there would be serious political repercussions. And how could he do that?

They have examined at least two options that would not directly involve Trump, according to two immigration policy advisors to the White House: a lawsuit brought by states, and new legal guidance that details who is a priority for deportation.

Under that option, Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions, a vocal critic of deportation relief as a senator, would direct Department of Justice lawyers to review the program, which issues two-year work permits to people who qualify and keeps them from being categorized as deportation priorities.

If the Justice Department determines that DACA is not legal or is no longer a responsible use of prosecutorial discretion, the Department of Homeland Security would be instructed to stop awarding and renewing work permits.

Another possible path involves the courts. A handful of governors are considering a challenge patterned on the 2014 lawsuit filed by several conservative state officials against the Obama administrations expansion of deportation protections. If they sue, Sessions could instruct his lawyers not to defend the program in court, exposing it to indefinite suspension by a federal judge.

Deportation relief could also be ended the same way it was begun, said Kris Kobach, the Kansas secretary of state and the architect of multiple state and local laws aimed at immigrants in the U.S. illegally. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly could simply instruct U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to stop issuing work permits, much as Obamas first secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, created DACA with a memo in 2012.
