Politics : feels like a comet is speeding toward us…

and we know it's going to hit sometime on the 19th. We're running around, saying our goodbyes and hoping against hope that some miracle will happen.

It won't.

The comet will hit.

Everything will die.

most of us will lose track of each other. Some have migrated to new boards. Of those, many kept their same name, some changed to new ones.to hide their pasts presumably.

But it won't be the same. There are no other boards like this one. There are no other threaded boards that are so easy to read and have multiple conversations within the same thread. The other boards suck for long threads. Points get lost in the mass of messages.

This forum was one of a kind. The trolls ruined it. The chronic reporters who used the report function as a means to shut up those they didn't like and caused administration so much work they decided this place is more trouble than its worth. In a nutshell that's what happened. If they could have the boards exist but not have to police them, they wouldn't care. Server space isn't that expensivenot if it brings in the traffic. No, it was the work of constant monitoring and the fear of liability for the awful things getting posted.

Wellin a little more than 24 hours it'll all be over. The comet will hit. The oceans will rise in a huge tidal wave and wash over the entire land, enveloping the mountain tops and drowning all life on the IMDb forums.

We had fun. And then we f*^ked it up.

I hardly ever reported anyone.
It would probably equal to about one every three-four weeks.
And I had the red notice all the time and I wasn't any worse than anyone else on here.

In any case, if that is true, then why not just take away the report feature but leave the ignore one?
