My prediction is that Romney has a 77% chance of winning. You see, anyone can just make up numbers. Although I agree that Obama has a SLIGHT advantage in the electoral college, the map you see on Huffington Post is basically just liberal wishful thinking. They disregard, dismiss, or don't weigh as heavily, polls they don't like. They don't take into account the fact that most polls are heavily tilted towards a strong Democratic turnout and weak Republican turnout. They pick and choose which states are toss ups and which are leaners with no clear criteria. If Obama is up by 2, they make it a lean Obama; if Romney is up by two, they make it a toss up. Basically, they see what they want to see.

That's not an argument. We both know what I posted was accurate. Someone supporting a criminal that failed her job as Senator and Secretary of State has no room to say others have the warped worldview. Facts do not care about your feelings.

But will the attendance numbers convert to actual voters? A hidden, silent and unpollable majority might be present given the attendance levels at Trump events versus Clinton events, but historically attendees at these events don't always become voters.

Believe me.

I believe they will considering the response against the government. It's Brexit all over again, but on a larger scale. Even if a fraction of those supporters didn't become voters it still puts him ahead by a wide margin.

There is certainly a gap in the polling as well. 8 million more votes since 2012. I see it playing out like the 1980 election.

While that's true, I would stress that most Americans aren't looking at the polls and thinking ah everything is fine. Plus, Brexit polling actually had Leave winning about half the time. So it's a pretty different situation.

A hardcore Trump supporter at my work believes everything is against Trump, and that he will win in the end. I honestly hate talking about politics at work, especially when you make a fool of yourself. I showed this guy the state polling data from RCP, from the swing states like Florida, Nevada, and Colorado. It proved Trump is done without even taking into account Arizona and Georgia. He has since shut his mouth around me at least.

As of now though all these threads from those like yourself, Shays just seems like gloating. And with who the winning candidate will be, that is not something to be gloating about.

What seems obvious to ardent poll watchers seems to pass right by the general public. For some reason, everyone is obsessed with national polls and only political nerds follow state polls. The President of the United States is not elected by the national vote but by the Electoral College. And Electoral College voters, when not bound by state laws(doesn't binding EC voters to the popular vote in each state directly undermine the whole purpose of the Electoral college?), typically vote for the winner of the popular vote in their respective state. So why is there so much attention paid to national polls when state polls are actually more predictive? Is it the whole 'horse race' thing?

Yes, the winner of the national popular vote will normally(sorry Al) win the election. But in a race that features 4 candidates that are all actually registering, it would seem that following the individual state polls would make a bit more sense. I would think state polls would be a bit more accurate in regards to polling because they are focusing on a much smaller group.
