It already would be taxed vis-a-vis corporate profits.
For example, if a corporation paid a worker $50,000 a year there would be some percentage of that taxed. But the entire amount would be deductible.
But if the corporation instead replaced the worker with a robot and let's say saved $40,000 a year then - assuming no competition - the corporation would earn $40,000 more in pre-tax profits than otherwise. That means more corporate taxes.
So one would need to compare and contrast to two tax rates first before one could say that they would not be paying the same amount of taxes already. Conceivably even more. Conceivably less.
