i agree with this, but that's why i would have liked to have seen the show at least acknowledge the progression and the change it would have been to move from a long friendship into a physical relationship.

i mean, it IS different and that changes things forever. i think it was a bit cowardly to just gloss over that entirely, tbh.

a good example is a show like Agents of SHIELD, where longtime best friends Fitz and Simmons finally got together. the show had an episode where the two talked about the nervousness of how becoming physically intimate after all these years will change their relationship forever.

or hey, even on a show like Friends, of all things when Ross and Rachel finally got together, there was an episode where Rachel was super nervous about them having sex, because they'd known each other so long. i mean, it was funny, but there was truth at the heart of it.

this show just TOTALLY ignored the elephant in the room, and the big step that this was for them as a couple, in particular because they had been best friends their whole lives.

that's really messed up, imo.

Since they showed them in bed in the promo, I'm willing to wait and see if that's the morning after their first time. I'm hoping it picks up where it left off and shows Barry taking them to Iris' place. If they don't do that, then I'll be pissed.

I don't think the writers messed up. I don't think Barry and Iris are endgame.

Let's get the main couple together in season 2
Let's break them up over something stupid
Get back together
Break up
Almost get back together
No, we can't be together
20 seconds before the end of the series finale - you're my soulmate, let's be together forever and get married.

For my own anxiety level - maybe they are endgame, maybe they're not. That way I enjoy the show a lot more!

Barry and Iris have already had sex. The show will not pick up where it left off it never ever has except in 2 parters and YES. They are endgame.

Do you mean like 2x20 where Iris tells Barry she wants to explore what they have or like 2x22 where Barry tells Iris he's not sure what they have but she has always meant everything to him or how about 3x4 where Iris confronts Joe and Barry about the new dynamic of their relationship or that same Ep where "Barry confesses that now that they are together he has everything he's ever wanted but it also scares him because it's easier to fai than succeed" did you mean like those episodes?

I disagree because it wasn't ignored and it's perfectly clear that their relationship has progressed to the intimate stage. No we haven't seen them ripping at each others clothes BUT we have seen them on the brink and we saw Iris sitting in his lap with him holding her intimately and we saw the beginning of them christening their new place.

they should have made a big deal out of their first time. it's an outrage that it was completely ignored, not even acknowledged.

that was a huge milestone in their relationship that they completely skipped over, and no other show would have ever done that to their main couple.

Calm down. We don't know that they've had their first time already.

I'm more interested in their emotional connection than I am their physical one. It's not as if we're going to see uncovered body parts or pelvic thrusts.

I think they're already showing that emotional connection. It would be nice to see a sex scene, if not just for the reason of pissing the haters off. If we had to see Shantel's sagging ass in that deleted scene, we should see this. I won't die or lose it if I don't, because I'm not living vicariously through these people. Some are as we see. I'm tired of hearing the whining about it.

An outrage even. This isn't the vampire diaries. It aimed at families and their relationship IMO is about quiet passion based in emotional connection and trust. It wasn't skipped overit's understood that adults in intimate relationships have sex.

They're going to have twins. I hope it is revealed that Joe's parents are named Don and Dawn. Of course he also has Grandma Esther but I don't know if she is his mom's mom or his dad's mom.

I was hoping Joe would be named Don. Maybe he is Joesph Don West.
