Beyoncé : This is bigger than just the Grammy's. Why does NO ONE get that?!

It's so much deeper than "Beyonce didn't win" and that's what I wish some of you could understand. It's not about Beyonce losing AOTY it's about black excellence consistently being neglected in the MAJOR categories. Lemonade topped more Publications' Year End List and had more universal acclaim than ANY album released in 2016. If an album can have that much acclaim, have that much impact, have that much empowerment to black women, and still lose AOTY then tell me what else is it? Tell me what else it is if it isn't race? If Adele and Taylor released something like Lemonade and got that much acclaim I guarantee you they'd win. But when it comes to black artists, it doesn't matter what type of excellence they deliver because they'll be snubbed in MAJOR categories.

It's a deeper issue. Stop letting your distaste for the stardom and fanbase of Beyonce turn you off. This is about WHY when black artists are just as great or better, and they still get treated like they're beneath. What the Recording Academy does is give black artists smaller sub-categories to silence claims of racism. But when it comes to ROTY or AOTY? Forget it. Go do your homework and look up those categories and you'll see the overwhelming obvious snub of black artists through the years.

I'm not angry at Adele by the way, as she has a beautiful spirit and deserved AOTY in 2011. I also loved 25 and definitly think she deserved her award for "Hello". But this is about how an album like 1989 can win against Kendrick. How Macklemore can win against Kendrick. This is about how a sad album full of sad love songs can beat an album full of so many complex issues like racism, infidelity, self-love, faith, and forgiveness. Put your biased hatred for Beyonce to the side for a f_ucking second and actually THINK.

Just because I can't kiss back, doesn't mean you can't kiss that.

Black artists have to go to the moon and back to win major categories like these. And even then they're not guaranteed.

Michael had to have the best-selling album of all time to win AOTY, he didn't win it any other time despite being the most influential pop musician in history.

It certainly IS bigger than Beyonce. But it's hard to take people like Cherry and Smiley seriously when YEAR after YEAR the same sh!t has been happening at the Grammys and they had absolutely nothing to say about it. But when Beyonce gets snubbed, suddenly they're outraged and they have so much to say about racism.

We shouldn't only be having this discussion when Beyonce loses an award. Adele won and is a deserving recipient. You can fight for the cause without dragging down her win or claiming she didn't deserve it.

Like many others, I use to have a limited view when it comes to race, and other issues. I didn't start becoming aware of the world around me until the Trayon Martin situation. So no I'm not going to pretend like I was on a crusade against racism for past 7 years I've been on this board.

I agree 100% that this discussion shouldn't be just for when Beyonce loses. But I said the same thing when Taylor won over Kendrick, and I've been talking about the academy only giving black artists Urban/R&B wins for awhile now. I'm not saying Adele didn't deserve it, I just feel Lemonade deserved it more.

But Beyonce didn't wrote anything, Adele co wrote every song and she didn't need much collaborators, Lemonade is a great album, but Adele deserved the award more, she worked harder on her album, 25 is her best album, da0despite what the haters here say the album is not 21 2.0, River Lea, I Miss You, Send My Love, Water Under The Bridge, all different from anything on 21.

The day will come when Beyonce wins AOTY at the Grammys. That is inevitable. And I can GUARANTEE TO YOU that the moment that she does, the Grammys will go back to their usual racist bull sh!t and the people bitching about racism now will STFU about it because Beyonce won. It's not genuine.

Beyonc winning AOTY when she doesn't deserve it as a token would be even more of a disgrace than her losing with an album she put all of her heart and soul into.

Actually, her army of songwriters exposed it.

And artists have exposed everything from rape to domestic abuse to parental abandonment without winning awards, so why should "exposing" something automatically win Beyonc an award?

The songwriting argument is such a weak ass argument and I can't believe people are still so dense enough to keep using it. Really?

People keep using it because it's a legitimate point. The amount of songwriters used for Lemonade was absolutely ludicrous, and her gullible stans acting like every lyric was straight from Beyonc's diary only makes that fact more frustrating.

Lukey, which credits did she pay for? Why are saying this without receipts?

Ne Yo exposed her long time ago and so did many others, she's a very good performer and her albums are very good, but she doesn't put heart and soul in it, i don't find it wrong when a singer doesn't write songs, but i do find wrong when they get credits for something they didn't write.

I don't think 25 is great but neither is Lemonade. Its product of other people work. Beyonc did nothing but milk drama for the record. The songs are not that great either. Lemonade is all hype. People are acting as if its a masterpiece when its not even close to being that good. That alone tells us what low standards we have for music.

Beyonces writing teams and producers should get the awards because they made it look like Beyonc put vulnerability, heart and soul into music. She isn't talented enough and has way too many writers to put any emotions in the songs herself. All Beyonc did was capitalizing off of her drama.

This is only an issue for somebody that still takes the Grammys seriously.
