Donna Douglas : Her career: didn't capitialize on it ,or no offers?
Re: Her career: didn't capitialize on it ,or no offers?
I'm thinking she turned down a lot of roles - it does say in her bio something about family values. She didn't want to do trash ,by todays standards she would have been out of a job for being too picky.

I'm not sure what she defines as trash, but there were other sitcoms(or other)shows in the 70's post-Beverly Hillbillies that may have been a possiblity, unless she was typecast.

I think she was both typecast and perhaps the roles she was offered tried to capitalize on her sexuality, which she had come to feel uncomfortable about flaunting. I say "had come to" because it's that sexuality that gave her her start, first as a beauty queen, then in her few roles leading up to Elly Mae. It was her best asset.

It was her best asset.
That reminds me, she made the blue jeans industry extremely popular back in the day.
