Politics : UK or USA
Re: UK or USA
uk probably. US is too big for a race war and American police will just start executing hostile forces and put an end to it over night whereas UK police cant really do anything except wave their little batons around
Re: UK or USA
UK. In America the democRATS are too busy eating their own. In the UK half are woke and the other half muslim apologists.

Re: UK or USA
That is rich coming from the bloke who just suggested that a woman praying quietly was somehow intimidating.

Re: UK or USA
A straw man. I was talking about pro-life protests in general which can be intimidating and where this activist was arrested for breaching an exclusion zone outside an abortion group. But I can see how it might serve your case to misrepresent matters. There is though no reason why cannot feel intimidated by a crowd, no matter what they are doing.

Re: UK or USA
Now you are attempting to change the subject. The subject is the woman not protesters in general. In any case feelings do not matter.

Re: UK or USA
At the start you said you claimed the woman was being denied her human freedom by being arrested for praying when in fact it was for breaching an exclusion zone around an abortion clinic, where people can feel intimidated. So you were wrong.
Now you say I call just praying intimidating, when you were wrong again.
I am sorry though you do not care about feelings. That is wrong too.
I think you'll find things are a little more complicated than that.

Re: UK or USA
Facts Trump feelings. So do human rights. Abortion is not a human right. Belief is.
She wasn't simply arrested for being in a place. That place was a public street. She or anyone else could have walked back and forth right thru it all day. No. She was arrested for prayer and the courts not only agreed but that matter has already been decided and your side lost.
That you are attempting to second guess the court is truly amusing.

Re: UK or USA
Facts Trump (sic) feelings.
In which case just feeling a deity exists through faith, without evidence is 'trumped'.
Abortion is not a human right.
The right to birth control is a human right. These rights include the right to make decisions about the number, timing, and spacing of children, and the right to access information and services to do so. I hope that helps.
Belief is.
I quite agree. And so is the freedom to laugh at those beliefs.

I gave the terms of her arrest earlier. Have you conveniently forgotten already? In fact it turn out that the prohibition against standing within the vicinity of an abortion clinic, which got her again into trouble, was part of Vaughn-Spruce's bail conditions in the wake of her arrest earlier this year. If she wanted to pray silently then why not do it in church? The fact that she chose her spot deliberately must be to create an effect on those she sought to influence.
Birmingham introduced a Public Health Protection Order (PHPO) last September banning "protesting, namely engaging in any act of approval or disapproval or attempted act of approval or disapproval, with respect to issues related to abortion services, by any means" near abortion clinics. A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is a power that local authorities can use to control certain activities in a specific area. PSPOs are used to address issues that are damaging to the quality of life in a local community.
I don't know why you have suddenly introduced this topic to a political board. It is a legal (or religious) matter, and Vaughn-Spruce was lucky to avoid punishment. As an activist she may not be so next time…

Re: UK or USA
Isn't the UK already having one?
Re: UK or USA
No; the recent temporary civil disorder, instigated by far right activists has ended, partially effected by huge turn-outs at counter demonstrations, and now hundreds of people face prison..

That is some really good news. 12 year old girls get what they deserve and people shouldn't be angry about it.

They were angry at a supposed link between immigrants and the appalling murder of children, inflamed by the social media incitement of the far right. But thank you anyway.

Re: UK or USA
Thankfully the left is here to correct us and make sure we don't do anything to stop 12 year olds from being murdered in the future. Fucking 12 year old girls are so entitled thinking they deserve to live. They deserve to get groomed, gang raped and stabbed to death!

Far right is very real threat, says PM Keir Starmer
The far right is a "very real threat" which needs to be combatted, Sir Keir Starmer has said. Speaking on a visit to Paris, the prime minister said the best way to deal with the "snake oil" of populism and nationalism was through "delivery" and "showing there are progressive, democratic answers to the many challenges we face is the way forward".
In his first month in No 10, Sir Keir faced a wave of riots across England and Northern Ireland fuelled by far-right, anti-immigration sentiment and misinformation online…
… Sir Keir previously condemned this summer's unrest in the UK as "far-right thuggery".
In a speech in the Downing Street rose garden on Tuesday, the PM said the riots "revealed a deeply unhealthy society… weakened by a decade of division and decline, infected by a spiral of populism which fed off cycles of failure of the last government".
The disorder erupted following the spread of misinformation about the fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport, with false speculation that the suspect was an asylum seeker who had arrived in the UK on a boat. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crkm8mg4md4o
