Film General : Why are they shutting down the boards?

Yes there are trolls but you laugh at them and ignore them. It's incredibly useful to be able to discuss any show or movie with anyone at any time like this site allows. Why would they get rid of this feature? Their traffic is going to vanish (I'm definitely leaving).

I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I'm not worried, but I'm cool if they disable the boards. That's not the only reason to check out the site.

And that is what IMDb/Amazon doesn't get. These are the best message boards. All that other stuff can be obtained from a dime a dozen other sources now.

No one cares about the boards being shut down, aside from the people who have no real life friends to talk about movies with. I can see why those people would be upset about it, seeing as how they clearly have no social skills.

Those other source is probably citing IMDB (is movies Full cast and crew really everywhere ?)

But if you would be right, that would be a big problem (specially considering how unmonetizable message board and there users tend to be), they need to add content that are not everywhere else, I imagine that would be exclusive studio content, that they would made to put on the movie IMDB page.

If message board are blocking that, they really need to close them.
