Film General : which of these 3 asian films should I see tonight?
Re: which of these 3 asian films should I see tonight?
I liked but didn't love The Wailing; while the acting is good and the ideas are interesting, it's AWFULLY long for what it is. I like long movies more than just about anybody, but a 2 1/2 hour horror film where you can figure out where it's going halfway throughehh. Still worth a view IMO, just something of a disappointment given that it looked really great to me.
Haven't seen the other two but I am more interested in The Chaser; I guess I have to be in the mood for historical/mythical martial arts stuff as well, so Ip Man has never really been a high priority.
Here's to the fools who dream

I'm plundering the asian market, especially south korean.
loved movies such as
Oldboy, The host, the man from nowhere, I saw the devil and a bitter sweet life.
So what next is up?
just to be clear I will be watching all 3 of them at some point
1: The Chaser (2008) < heard this is a masterpiece
2: The Wailing (2016) < this is the one I' feel most drawn to right now
3: IP Man (2008) < the rating is through the roof, but I don't know if I'm in the mood for history action
