Robt Frost easily due to that whole New England dealio. That means a lot to me. You probably won't believe me, but for two years I lived in a house that was catty-corner (in the back) from one of Frost's former houses while he was teaching at Amherst College.

Technically TS Eliot was American. He made his career as a banker in London & ran with that racy Bloomsbury Group. But Tom Eliot was from St Louis & went to Smith Academy & Milton Academy before graduating from Harvard.
