Byron Haskin : Hundred days of the dragon

Hundred days of the dragon

SUCH A GOOD EPISODE!

Re: Hundred days of the dragon

It sure was. Director Haskin handled this one exceptionally well, sustaining an uneasy mood of vague menace with no sensationalism to speak of despite some gaping plot holes.

There are are unmistakable undertones of Yellow Perilsm in the presentation of the Chinese characters. Yet it's a sober episode overall, and I find the ending satisfactory.

The teleplay is excellent, features first rate and believable dialogue. This is in Outer Limits entry that truly doesn't overplay its hand. The ending was well staged if somewhat far fetched, and even a wholly rational viewer can't but breathe a sight of relief when it's over.
