I'd be more surprised to see him in the show next year than that he left. Hopefully he gets a better sendoff than MW. The actor and character deserve it.

David is contracted through season 15. So unless he has a clause that will let him out early given his age or NCIS ends up going past next season. I can't see Ducky going anywhere

I haven't seen the episode yet but by making Palmer an MD/ME, they are opening a possible substitution for McCallum just in case he retires, and God forbid, gets ill or passes away. I know people live fir a long time but David is in his eighties so it is always a possibility.

Palmer threatened to out Gibbs, unless he got promoted, so Gibbs put the skids under Ducky, to get Palmer the ME job at NCIS.

thanks for that Annie, lol, it was uncanny and unusual reading him/her (or both) but it got old and I didn't want to read any of the dribble any more. it's my first ignore (and probably my last), never believed in it till now.

I have a feeling NCIS is going to end after season 15, they may be tying up loose ends.

I dunno DeathRay, the show is a money tree, and it keeps a ton of people working, not just the stars, (20 years for gunsmoke) but it's going to be interesting to see if they end it or not,

Hoping they are smart enough to end it while it's still watchable. Unfortunately most #1 shows end up going on unto even die hard fans can barely stomach to watch.

I'm just glad for USA, I record all the past shows and they're much better than the new ones.

It is only natural that his character would get promoted. Tony should have gotten his own team. Members of the team would have gotten married. And yes, ducky should retire or take a less active role. Only " the Simpsons" can keep the characters young forever.

not anytime soon I don't think, because David McCallum has signed on for S15 so he will be on NCIS for at least another season

It'd be neat if he did. Or Ducky could retire and become a part-time consultant doing psychological profiling. It'd be nice to see him take a step back, I'm a bit over his character.
