Horror : Which Evil Dead movie is scarier?

Original (1981) or (2013) version? I've already seen Evil Dead 2 a long time ago and I know that was a horror comedy and wasn't all that impressed by it. I might have seen the original and the 2013 version also long time ago but I don't remember?

These movies were all free just about a week ago so should have watched then. Sure enough when I'm finally in the mood to watch it seems (every time I go to watch something) they are charging for it now.

So I am only paying to watch one and I want the scariest one, preferably.

The original is scarier, but it is so low budget the sound and editing (and honestly most of the acting) was pretty bad. It is still pretty good if that stuff doesn’t bother you too much

2013 will be scarier than all of them.

Obviously remakes like The Ring were better than the original, ever seen the thai film Shutter?

I watched the American version years ago. That's enough for me. Yeah it had scary parts in it but that part was what turned the film into a comedy imo.

I agree the Japanese versions are pretty scary. I haven't seen Shutter.
