It Happened One Night. I've never been much of an Audrey Hepburn fan, but I do like Gregory Peck. Roman Holiday is a great film but It Happened One Night it is not.

In execution they're different, but in basic premis they're almost identical.
Rich girl flee's from home, to get away from upper class people, failed handsome journalist meets the fleed beautiful rich girl, theyy fall in love, and the failed journalist exploits his knowledge of the girl to his company to get back in and restart his career.

I think Roman Holiday is better on a technical level, but entertainment and enjoyment wise they're probably about equal.

I like them both but I would go with It Happened One Night.

It Happened One Night is funnier but like most other movies before the late 30s you can tell they didn't really how to take full advantage of sounds. Those really old ones feel like there's so much dead air in them.
Roman Holiday has a better connection between the two main characters and I like that it's not a traditional happy ending.

Mine is It Happened One Night, i love Clark Gable too much, he's just way too cool.
