It is not only super long, slow and boring it is one of the dumbest movies ever made because you will have no idea what the fuck is going on since no one is explaining what is going on.
There is all this shit they throw into it and don't care if you get it or not.
If you don't care and want to watch something with no plot and with just all this surreal, boring and dumb visual stuff that makes no fucking sense at all, then go ahead and watch it.
Though believe me.
You are not missing anything by not watching this overrated hunk of a turd of a movie.

It is a visual experience about the evolution of humankind. It tells its story visually and the emotional core of it comes from HAL 9000.
It really doesn't need any explanation and the coldness of the human characters is deliberate.

I didn't enjoy it first time round but then I watched it again many years later and I really enjoyed it. Same thing with The Exorcist.
One of the best things about it was that it inspired Duncan Jones to make Moon.

It is a film one has to be in the mood to watch, but it is a very rewarding and visually stunning experience.
It is pure cinema and just begs to be seen on the giant cinema screen.
