Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
I wonder what's better about earbuds, that it doesn't have any pressure at all on your face? I slept with soundproofing ear phones and it pressed hard on me in my sleep and changed the shape of my face, even more. Of course, I had headphones since I was 6 and listened to and learned to sing children's songs, hey why not get ahead for the future, rather than going around thinking about makeup all day.
I know Beats seem famous for earphones, which I got on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in the audience. Apple is famous for its earbuds, I think. I think they are a friendly brand. I've used them a lot, obviously. I think I broke the Beats phones when I was mad, though. I've had so many Apple headphones. I used to want more Beats phones, maybe. It kinda makes my mouth water to see how expensive they can make it. Who doesn't?
So, I did some research for the phones I got, in ways not as much as I hoped, but seems ideal playing with different features with give and take, maybe good for German music etc.

BlueTooth is celestial compared to wired phones.

Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
The most important thing is that they fit inside your ear properly to get the best comfort and sound. Maybe a cheap pair might do the job better than a dear pair, but will they last as long?
Personally I hate the damn things and always use a decent (but not expensive) headset.

Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
Well, I didn't go for $300 since I don't have all that much money, so I may be fine with $100/$150, think mine are on sale. I never spent much before, but BlueTooth is more expensive but not as bad these days as I'd think. BlueTooth seems better, I used to spend usually about $10, $15 or $20 if a lot for me, on wire ear buds. I used to change my cell phone case more often, too. It's just hard to find a cute one if you want a kickstand, I should be getting a new phone someday, and it looks like my tablet cover so it's cute they match.

Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
you want earbuds which mold or shape into your ears so the fit is comfortable and the background noise either eleminated or absolutely minimized. me? i dont put anything inside my ears smaller than my elbow. if you can sleep with both ears plugged like an unused cannon, great news for you.
dont go blowing hundreds on earbuds. look on amazon for knocko=ffs to the most expensive and hyped models. maybe even amazon "basics" will meet your needs. paying top$$ for a namebrand isnt money savvy.

I watched a 10 minute video comparing at least 2 different types of the same model. I looked at different brands from an article, too.

There was one from America that is now from Denmark, which seemed to have nice symphonic, eclectic quality.
Some of the more expensive ones seem to be for better talking range and noise cancellation.
Mine was almost $120. It's from Germany, and I think it's mainly the brand the video was on with this Burtonesque sound aficionado or pro.
I've had numerous $1 ear buds break in increasing rapidity. I still have cheap cord earbuds for the gym etc. or on the bus or walking. My iPhone 6, which is extremely primitive in my opinion, doesn't seem to be taking Bluetooth/wireless, though my old iPhone 6 which broke did, a long time ago.
I put some wireless ones in backwards and it was terrible, like no "music" at all, that's when I bought this one. It was like $30 maybe, the one I didn't like. My one before was spectacular and I kept listening to music for its quality, but it broke when I slept on the side with it on. It had that ear hook that sticks out I know and a button on the ear bud itself.

Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
Someone who can't afford proper furniture and buys her groceries at the Dollar Tree should probably not blow $150 on earbuds which she will break in the first 5 minutes.

Wait, they are only $100 maybe the shipping was $20, but I think they lowered the price.

Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
All earbuds are rubbish. Get yourself some headphones.
Re: Does price matter with earbuds for music?
With some brands you pay for the name and the looks (Beats). And, because they're so prone to breaking the cords, it's foolish to pay too much unless you're able to repair them yourself (or know someone). I don't doubt there are some decent products in the $1 to $5 range, but my favourite earbuds are the JVC HA-FX33 that sold for $15 to $25, but are long out of production. The curvy body is easy to insert, and they sound pretty good. Of course, in time they tend to break the inner wires near the earbuds, so I have to pry off the covers, shorten the wires and resolder (paying attention to maintaining polarity so they don't end up out of phase).
As someone else pointed out, all earbuds must make a good seal to your ear canal if you want to get any bass. I make replacement tips by punching holes in foam earplugs.

I can appreciate the convenience of Bluetooth, but the lower audio quality and easy of losing one of a pair isn't acceptable to me.
