Mickey Rooney : His supposed affair with Elizabeth Taylor…

Is there any truth to this at all? I read about it recently (Liz being my all-time idol), a new biography that was recently published apparently details his wife at the time walking in on him and a 14 year old Elizabeth Taylor, but from what I can tell there is no way to determine whether it is true or not (All three parties being dead will do that). Is there anyone here who knows something I don't, who can shed some light on the matter?
