This and The Empire Strikes Back. The whole franchise went downhill after the first two films.

No way. I think it's maybe the worst one. It is boring and not enough action.

In hindsight, this is the only one in the series that has the ‘epic’ feel. Empire was more like a domestic family drama, and Jedi felt too commercialized. This one is shot like a David Lean film with sweeping vistas and grand world-building.

I know the majority think of ESB as the best but I find this one as the best.
Luca$h and the studio were not sure how well it would do and did not expect to make a sequel which is why it is great as it is as a stand alone film.
It just has great character development, the way they form their friendships from the beginnings and a great story line which is what makes this one so magical.
Two guys who never met before, one a dreamer and another a cynical smuggler, end up bonding and going off to rescue a princess.
How awesome is that?
Who else agrees that this one is the best of all of them?
