Ray Milland : Wasn't he cute?

Wasn't he cute?

I'm an 18 year old girl, and I don't get it, am I the only one who thinks he was handsome and sexy?

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I'm a straight guy but I can only agree that he wasn't a bad looking bloke. Judging by his biography - he knew it too, and so did the ladies! Lucky chap.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Thank you for agreeing with me, I thought I was the only one!

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Ray was a major hearthrob in movies in the late 1930's and 1940's, not as glamorous and flawless as Tyrone Power or Robert Taylor perhaps but a more down-to-earth common joe sexiness. He probably was one of the top six matinee idols of the era, along with Power, Taylor, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, and Gary Cooper.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Yes he was, but I gotta wonder the purpose of announcing one's when expressing this? Don't find it necessary.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I'm almost 41 and I think he was very cute.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

When I was a teenager, I did think the same.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I'm a 53-year-old straight (but not narrow, unlike Ray) female, and I think he's very attractive! So does my 50-year-old sister. I like the young Ray, the middle-aged ray, and even the elderly, bad-toupee Ray (i.e. Frogs).

Re: Wasn't he cute?

About 25 years ago, I had a HUGE crush on Ray Milland. I thought he was sooo gorgeous!

Re: Wasn't he cute?

He was fine as wine in the summer time.....

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I always thought he was really handsome, either when started his career or in a movie like "The Lost Weekend", where he was supposed to look bad. Have you seen him in "Golden Earrings"? He's just hot when has to get an exotic looks and pretend to be a gypsy. I even found him quite attractive in his later roles, for instance, in "Love Story".

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree!
And to whoever said age is irrelevant, I think not. It's good to find more young people interested in old films. I'm 16 and pretty much 90% of my celebrity crushes have been guys like him who have been dead for years. It's weird, but I'm quite proud of it. Haha. :D

I'm a 16 year old girl and I think he was really sexy!

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Yes. Handsome, intense, a screen-grabber and what a voice!

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I think his sexiness comes from his boyish mischievous glint in his eye.

Global Warming, it's a personal decision innit? - Nigel Tufnel

Re: Wasn't he cute?

In his youth he was really cute, so boyish, and devilish. As he got a little older, say in his 40's he got to be one of the screens most charming, suave men alive. Love him.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

Ray Milland was a type that doesn't exist anymore; handsome and debonair. Nowadays most actors are only concerned with looking good which is ironic because they lack charisma. They are not interested [or don't appear to be] interested in actually improving themselves like Milland did.

I can't think of ANY young actors today who are stylish like Milland was and who would be willing to branch out of their comfort zones instead of playing it safe with superhero films.

Re: Wasn't he cute?

I thought he looked good, well into the 1950's, but then he took off his toupee, and that was it. It's all about the hair.
