Midnight Mass : So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
I think the message
Sounds like you need a med adjustment also.
Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
She was judgmental
Another cliche verse that nonbelievers use is "Don't judge" along with "Love the Neighbour" and "God loves everyone."
This is often taken out of context. "Don't judge" does not mean don't judge the lifestyle or actions of someone that is committing an obviously sinful or immoral act that God specifically says is an abomination.
People do it all the time. Harvey Weinstein. Bill Cosby. People have judged them guilty without even being at the trial. Casey Anthony. OJ. etc. etc.
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"
This isn't a call for not to judge, this means, if you judge others for an act, please consider your own sinful actions first; take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see if you have the appropriate stance to judge others.
John 7:24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
It's ok to judge. Christians are not to judgmental of non-sinful actions, but they can judge sinful ones.
It's okay for Christians to judge gays as going to hell because God already said gays are going to hell. It's already answered. Don't judge things you're UNSURE about.
Like, if a guy has a pink shirt on, it would be wrong to judge him as a queer, or doomed to salvation. There's nothing scripturally wrong with a man wearing pink, even though it may not be one's taste. But it's okay to judge people who commit actions that are made CLEAR as wrong by Scripture.
It's OK to judge!
acted like she was better than everyone else
This is subjective and an opinion, but she was stern and abrupt and unlikeable, yeah, but you needs a specific action she did that was factually Unchristian.
Monster, how should I feel? Creatures lie here, looking through the window.

Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
You are just like those stupid characters in the series. You misinterpreted the bible and they sit there believing every stupid word you're posting.
Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
Look, Beverly was a true Christian. She was literally quoting scripture. It says what it says.
True Christianity is going to be considered hateful by a secular, leftist society.
When the Bible says what it says it literally means what it says.
When Bible says women should not talk in church, it literally means, in 2021, that women should not talk in church.
When Bible says those who dishonour their parents shall be put to death, it literally means, in 2021, those who talk back to their parents should be put to death by capital punishment.
It literally means that shit. It is not a metaphor. It is not the "Old Law." it literally means that shit. You have to understand that. I'm a scholar and a gentleman and I'm telling you that's what it means.
Of course, of course, if in the 2021 you say that certain people should be put to death, you will get reprimanded by society. But you will be standing with God.

Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
Midnight Mass is a story about religious fanaticism as it intersects with horror, but beneath this is the underlying theme of forgiveness.
Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
Correction.
Midnight Mass is an original Netflix horror series about how a vampire converts a Catholic Church into a vampire coven.

Yes, it is a Netlfix horror series; but the underlying theme is about religious fanaticism and forgiveness.

Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
Look in the mirror you horrible excuse of a human being.
Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
So-called, LOL? She taught Christian beliefs and ideals in public schools, but objected to any other religion being brought up. She killed a dog simply because she didn't like it. She would then go on to murder - both directly and indirectly - almost the entire population of the island. So-called?! Bev was an awful person from top-to-bottom. It's indisputable.
The show is criticizing rabid faith. If you weren't so blindly loyal to your religion, you'd see that. Did you not notice the main character's family and love interest were all shown to be very religious, but all shown to be good people? They refused and fought back against Bev and her fanatical followers. You seem hell-bent on believing this show's purpose was to rip Chrstianity and proof to the contrary is right in front of your face.
And this notion that the show has to criticize all religion or none is just silly.

Re: So let's mock Christianity but not Islam.
The Ten Commandments states "thou shall not commit murder."
Beverly and her cans of rat poison surely go against scripture.
