Storytelling : Fiction
Re: Fiction
Yeah, I thought it felt kind of incomplete, too.
Re: Fiction
I also felt like the scene where Marcus is looking at his reflection had more to it, as well. Like maybe something happened before with him, too.

Re: Fiction
I don’t think there is.
Re: Fiction
According to IMDB, the only thing that was cut was another section called “Autobiography,” but I also would have liked to have seen more scenes in fiction.
Re: Fiction
I read that Selma Blair’s character’s roommate supposedly had more scenes.
Re: Fiction
giamatti kills in this. when he's on the phone while the toilet flushes is all-time.
Re: Fiction
Or, maybe the full argument with Vi and Marcus when they break up over the phone. We don’t know what Marcus said to her.
Re: Fiction
I would have been fine with just fiction being a short film. I preferred fiction over non-fiction.
Re: Fiction
Same here.
Re: Fiction
I thought fiction would have been a good short film, too.
Re: Fiction
Marcus wasn’t upset about it. He even acknowledged that it was true in the next classroom scene.
Re: Fiction
Right, he was just upset about her story being torn apart by her classmates.
Re: Fiction
Yes, he and Mr. Scott were the only ones who knew it was true.
Re: Fiction
I would have liked to have seen those things, too.
Re: Fiction
I thought non-fiction was ok, but I agree about fiction being better. Wish Leo Fitzpatrick had more scenes, too. Like him comforting his girlfriend when she comes to see him.
Re: Fiction
Yeah, Leo was good in this.
Re: Fiction
In an interview, Leo thought he wasn’t good in this.
Re: Fiction
I think he was better in this than in Kids. More easy to sympathize with.
Re: Fiction
Yeah, he was not a good person in Kids.
Re: Fiction
I think he was being too hard on himself.
Re: Fiction
This is the interview I was referring to:
Re: Fiction
And maybe a little more of the opening scene too.

Re: Fiction
I’d have liked to have seen what he did when she left his room.
Re: Fiction
Yeah, I like Leo Fitzpatrick.
Re: Fiction
I thought the opening scene was one of the most real looking sex scenes I’ve seen. It looked like the boyfriend was actually nude.
Re: Fiction
I think what we saw, is what there is.
Re: Fiction
Yes, I would have liked to have seen the full encounter with her boyfriend.
