Re: Racism anyone?

I agree, absolutely outrageous. Leaving aside the stigma of mental illness for a moment just what are Chris Rock and Richard Pryor doing in there? The way black people are portrayed in this *beep* is scandalous. But it's just a larf innit? Wake up…

Re: Racism anyone?

You people need to get a life!

I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney, than driving with Ted Kennedy

Re: Racism anyone?

Ugh, do you just go trawling all films with mainly white people in them and get all political and claim they are racist? Do you not have anything better to do with your time?

Re: Racism anyone?

What the *beep* are you people talking about? His kids were black, and the smartest characters in the whole movie. One of them was studying quantum physics for christs sake. The white people in the movie were the corrupt, ignorant ones. The only thing this thread shows in the coloured people in this movie were much, much smarter than any of you.

Re: Racism anyone?

For starters, I didn't say anything remotely racist. Secondly, I have no idea what you're even trying to say. Might be time to go back and finish primary school.

Re: Racism anyone?

True, but the baby nursing on that woman wasn't multi-racial…which offends me.

Re: Racism anyone?

what are you talking about? pink is a color.

Re: Racism anyone?

Alright, maybe the way his kids spoke, with the foul language…was a stereotype? And obviously the "di— are bigger than the sausages" was a stereotype as well. But it was portrayed in a harmless, humorous manner. Why get all up in arms about it?

Cru-7 hit the nail on the head. Is anyone getting upset that the black kids were intellectuals? Or are you conveniently ignoring that?

This movie is hardly racist. That's my opinion, and for what it's worth I'm white, and I believe racists are ignorant pieces of s—.

Did your parents have any children that lived???

Re: Racism anyone?

They had to show Richard Pryor and Chris Rock otherwise their speaking style wouldn't make sense. It's basically explaining why despite growing up with a white father in a pretty white area they still talk the way they do. Was that completely lost on all of you?

Re: Racism anyone?

Hmm, yes, portraying black people as geniuses and heroes, so raciss, yo.
