The vast majority of gun owners are lawful & responsible. Depriving good people of their rights because of a few bad actors is extremely stupid. And really that is as polite as I can be about it because treating a grown population according to kindergarten rules is just beyond dumb.

While guns exist, we should all have access to them. If you valued liberty, you'd understand. If you think guns should be banned, you have a cringe worthy, naive trust of government.

In the UK we have to make this tragedy mean something by further tightening the regulations so that events like this remain relatively rare.

Gun ownership should be a right afforded to everyone that can only be taken away if a person comitts a crime, is mentally unstable, or in some way suggests they may be a danger to the public or themselves. Even then, transparent procedures should be in place to ensure that the decision is justified, based on evidence, and not taken for political reasons.
Governments should not have the monopoly on gun ownership. Armed revolution should always be an option for the people. I can accept that for the past five or more decades, this may not have been evident, but anybody who can't see the need for that now is clearly naive.

Apparently Davison was stripped of his weapon and licence last December after an incident in September. It was returned to him after he attended an anger management course ffs.
