James Bond : Was I too harsh on Bond's wide age gaps?

I always didn't like the romances where the age gap appeared wide, particularly in For Your Eyes Only, A view to A Kill, and Never Say Never Again.

However, now that I am in a serious relationship with a woman who is 16 years younger than me, I wonder if I was too hard on Bond this whole time for doing that.

What do you think, was I too hard, and are other people perhaps too hard, especially now that I see myself through that lens, with a much younger girlfriend?

Bond can pull it off.
