Classical Music : End of forum

End of forum

Sorry to see the end of the classical music forum. After the more heavily trafficked sites I considered it a "safe corner" (like r3ok.com) with fewer companions but more conviviality.

Re: End of forum

I felt the same. Thank you, that was beautifully expressed.

Re: End of forum

Agreed, but it can continue on IMDb2 (see the Jill-McBain thread). I know fonti has mentioned TalkClassical, but it has a similar problem that all message boards that size have, and I prefer the intimacy of boards like this.

Rabbit: It's rare that stupid doesn't bring douchedom with it.

What problem? Trolling? Or rather, violent disagreements?

I went to Talkclassical months ago and it didn't let me sign up. It rejects certain internet service providers for some reason.

Re: End of forum

Is a r3ok.com a board with classical music discussion?

Re: End of forum

Yes. And it is even slower than this board. I have no idea where the name came from which is probably why it is so little known. That said, I posted a question about two obscure conductors who appeared decades ago on bargain LPs and got extremely helpful information from members who obviously did research in my behalf. With the death of this forum I will be spending more time there.

Re: End of forum

Is everyone aware that amazon has classical music and opera boards also?

Re: End of forum

Google has rec.music.classical. However the site is unmonitored and has been prone to horrific flame wars.

Good-music-guide.com is a worthwhile classical music site.
