Yeah, that's obscene

Re: If you will allow me to be Croft for a second, FUCK America

I don't see this guy as a victim here.
I see a guy who got 4 months worth of medical product & service, room, board
and cable TV up front, on the arm. Now he got an exorbitant bill….that's marked "this is not a bill". If you're worried he's going to be discharged into the workhouse or the salt mines to pay it down for the rest of his life, rest assured that's not going to happen.

Re: If you will allow me to be Croft for a second, FUCK America

Yeah I did notice the ' not a bill thing ' after I posted this. I should really change the title of this thread, considering I just found out what happened in Miami. I apologise guys, I didnt know at the time

Re: If you will allow me to be Croft for a second, FUCK America

What's it got to do with whatever happened in Miami ?

No need to apologize to me.

I certainly think the gleaming temples of HEALTHCARE!! get waaaaaaay too much of our money.
If I had to condense a solution into a few words it would be something like … stop giving it to them.

Hospitals have contracted rates with insurance companies. That’s why it’s important to have insurance - not simply because they pay the claim, but because they have already pre-negotiated the rates. So what’s a $3M itemized bill may just end up being a $300K payment (which is still a lot, but this man was literally an inpatient for months).
